Psyche.
Patients with chronic pain often develop secondary
psychological disturbances, such as depression, anger,
fear, withdrawal and anxiety. Sometimes these secondary
reactions become the "major problem", however it is a
common mistake to attribute all of the patients symptomatolgy to an aberrant psyche. The prompt

If you suffer
with fibromyalgia, but have no desire to take the massage certification course
in fibromyalgia massage techniques, the video will teach you numerous pain
relief techniques that you can perform for yourself or have a loved one help you
with. Many techniques cannot be performed by yourself, but several can be
adapted to self use. To order,

The video
will show you several types of techniques. Two are different methods of what is
called neuromuscular reeducation. What that means is that they are processes
that help your brain and muscles communicate differently than they do now. Right
now, your brain is sending signals to the muscles to tighten and hold tension.
These two techniques will help you send new signals from the muscle to the brain
that will allow the brain to send chemicals back to the muscles to break the
pattern of tension. One of the techniques is passive, meaning that you
reposition the muscles and relax in the new position. The other technique is
active, meaning that you gently contract and use the muscles to stimulate the
brain chemicals. The passive technique is excellent for patients that are having
a great deal of pain, and the active technique is preferred for patients that
have a bit less pain and want to combine gentle exercises with the stimulation
of brain chemicals to reduce the pain long term. But that is
just the beginning. In addition to the two methods of neuromuscular reeducation,
the video also teaches you techniques to relieve TMJ (jaw pain) and PMS
symptoms, both common ailments associated with fibromyalgia. You will learn
gentle stretching exercises that are helpful for fibromyalgia, and lymphatic
stimulation to improve your body’s immune system and the removal of toxins from
your bloodstream. You will also learn relaxation techniques such as breathing
exercises, progressive relaxation, tepid baths, and aromatherapy. To order,

The
optional manual that can accompany the video expands on the
information in the video, in that it covers more in-depth the
diagnosis, symptoms, treatment theories for FMS (fibromyalgia
syndrome), and benefits of massage for FMS patients. It also
briefly addresses body mapping, which is not on the video, and has
the forms for both the client and therapist to chart the client's
areas of pain. It then has in written form a description of what
is shown on the video, so you can freshen your memory on a
technique without having to try to find it on the video. It also
covers suggestions for marketing and sales, which are not on the
video, and resources such as national FMS foundations. To order,
